Chicago native trumpeter Marquis Hill was the winner of the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition in 2014. He is widely recognized as one of the preeminent voices on the instrument of his generation. Hill makes his first Houston appearance with his ensemble The Blacktet.
