The Texas Instruments Jazz Band, a full 18-piece big band,

presents a Latin Jazz Concert with the Collin Latin Jazz

Ensemble. The band, formed in 1986 by engineers at Texas

Instruments, has teamed up with the innovative Rhythmic Souls

tap
company to add some visual excitement to the concert. In

addition, Brittany
Hicks, who won the TI Voice Idol contest in June, will perform

with the band.
The TI Jazz Band has performed at The Montreux Jazz Festival

(2000), The
Cancun Jazz Festival (2012), The Meyerson Symphony Center, The

Eisemann
Center, The Wildflower Arts & Music Festival, and The Texas

Jazz Festival. The
band has also hosted notable jazz musicians such as Clark

Terry, Phil Woods,
Kurt Elling, Peter Erskine, Randy Brecker, Delfeayo Marsalis,

Blue Lou Marini,
Tom “Bones” Malone, and Frank Mantooth.
The band rehearses weekly at the Collin College in Plano and is

directed by Kris
Berg. Kris received his masters and bachelors degrees in jazz

studies from the
University of North Texas.
